I taught all of the sculpture courses offered at Western Washington University through the 2000-2001 academic year including the summer quarter.  Courses included: Beginning Sculpture, Mixed Media, Advanced Sculpture and Independent Study.  I also taught sections of 2-D and 3-D Design in the foundations area.  I designed class projects, provided technical and conceptual instruction, documented student work and evaluated performance through written testing and oral critiques.  My responsibilities also included purchasing decisions, safety instruction and other details of studio operation.

2002                 SIGGRAPH “Studio” Design Team Volunteer

I worked with a team of artists, engineers and technology professionals to help design and run the “Studio”, a hands on high technology lab for the annual SIGGRAPH conference.  I participated in overall design decisions for the studio environment and personally designed graphics for its walls.  My responsibilities in the studio included still camera and video documentation, live audio and video mixing and video editing.

1998 - 2000            Sculptor / Special Projects Manager, Scene Art & Associates, Phoenix, AZ

Functioning as a part of a design and fabrication team, I was involved in the production of interactive exhibits, thematic environments, architectural elements, custom furniture, and other specialized items.  My responsibilities included technical design, product research and fabrication. My areas of specialization were electronics, lighting, audio, mechanical special effects and metalworking.

1997 - 1998            Fabricator and Technical Assistant, Martina Shenal -artist

Designed and fabricated mechanical, electronic and lighting effects for “learina”, a multimedia exhibit at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts.

1997                 Research Assistant, (Dimensional Animation), Arizona State University.

Responsible for assisting students with technical and conceptual issues in animation and for repairing and fabricating animation studio equipment.

1995 - 1997            Electrician and Lighting Assistant, Phoenix Theater Company, Phoenix, AZ

Served as assistant to Master Electrician. Duties include rigging, cabling, focusing, trouble-shooting and repairing theatrical lights.

1996                 Fabricator and Installer, Pyramid Tile and Marble, Santa Barbara, CA. 

Fabricated and installed custom marble and masonry work.  Extremely high level of accuracy and craftsmanship was required.  Worked on site in commercial and private locations.

1995                 Installations Assistant, Arizona State University Art Museum. 

Installed and removed art exhibitions. Performed general museum maintenance. Responsible for the careful handling of irreplaceable art objects.

1995                 Technical Assistant, Arizona State University, Sculpture Department. 

Oversaw daily operations of sculpture studio, including tool checkout, insuring safety of students, assisting with technical problems and repairing damaged equipment.

1994                 Screen Press Operator, Distinct Impression , Tucson, AZ.

High volume printing on tight deadlines.  Required careful quality control and general pre-press and printing skills.

1991 - 1994            Graphic Designer and Printer, Midwest Printing Co, Council Bluffs, IA.

Worked with customers to create custom designs using computer and traditional design tools.   Managed all stages of screen printing operations including film positive production, screen preparation, printing, packaging of orders and maintaining project schedules.

I have set up audio studios for both digital and analog recording and mixing, utilizing equipment such as multi-channel mixing boards, multi-track recorders, amplifiers, effects processors, computers (PC and Mac) and a variety of microphones.  I have also utilized Nagra ¼” analog recorders, CD burners and a variety of other professional and consumer level audio tools.  See also: Computer –Software – Audio/Video.
